According to Michael Scotto, the Los Angeles Lakers have emerged as one of the teams being mentioned as a possible destination for Lu Dort if the Oklahoma City Thunder decide to explore trade options involving the veteran guard.

As noted by Scotto, “Dort has a team option for $17.22 million for the upcoming season that several front executives who spoke with HoopsHype are projecting the Thunder to exercise, then consider flipping Dort on the trade market. Should such a scenario happen, Dort has been linked with the Lakers and several other teams.”

The report suggests that league executives expect Oklahoma City to pick up Dort’s option before potentially evaluating his value in trade discussions.

If the Thunder choose that route, multiple teams are expected to show interest, with the Lakers reportedly among the organizations connected to him.

Scotto also highlighted another possible factor to watch: “It’s worth noting that Brooklyn Nets head coach Jordi Fernandez coached Dort with the Canadian National Team.”

That connection could make the Nets another team worth monitoring should Dort become available, as Fernandez is already familiar with his game and experience from their time together on the international stage.
