Rockets forward Dorian Finney-Smith continues to deal with lingering pain in his left ankle following surgery in the offseason, Varun Shankar of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Despite the discomfort and uneven performance since returning, Finney-Smith said he’s grateful simply to be back playing.

“Of course, me being me, I expect more but I’m just happy to be back out there on the court,” he said.

“Got great teammates who [have had] my back even though I haven’t been shooting the ball as well as I want to. But you got to take your wins and my win is that I’ve been back on the court.”

Since rejoining the lineup, the veteran forward has struggled to find his rhythm.

In 26 games off the bench, he is averaging a career-low 3.0 points and 2.6 rebounds in 16.7 minutes per game.
