Dorian Finney-Smith is getting closer to finally suiting up for the Rockets, with his first appearance possibly coming on Christmas Day against the Lakers.

He was recently upgraded to questionable for that matchup, signaling real progress after spending the early part of the season working his way back from offseason ankle cleanup surgery.

The veteran forward has yet to make his Houston debut since signing a four-year deal during the summer, but his return appears to be approaching.

If he does play, it would come against a familiar opponent, as Finney-Smith ended last season in Los Angeles following a trade from Brooklyn.

Houston committed to him with a four-year, $52.7 million contract, banking on his experience, defense, and versatility to strengthen the roster.

A potential return against the Lakers would add an extra layer of intrigue, marking his first action with the Rockets against the team he suited up for just months ago.
