Memphis Grizzlies big man Zach Edey is dealing with an ankle issue after doctors identified a stress reaction in his left ankle.

The injury is not considered season-ending, and the expectation is that he will recover fully once he goes through a structured period of rest and rehabilitation designed to reduce stress on the area.

The team plans to shut him down from full activity for now and monitor how his ankle responds before ramping him back up.

Edey’s progress will be reassessed in roughly four weeks, at which point a clearer timeline for his return should emerge.

Until then, the focus will remain on ensuring the injury heals properly and avoiding any long-term complications.

Before the diagnosis, Edey had been a productive presence when on the floor.

Through 11 games this season, he has posted averages of 13.6 points and 11.1 rebounds per game while also contributing nearly two blocks a night, all in just under 26 minutes of action.
