Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo met with teammates to address circulating trade rumors, according to NBA insider Chris Haynes. Giannis’ message was clear: focus on basketball and avoid being distracted by outside noise.

The Bucks, currently 10-16 in the 2025-26 season, have repeatedly insisted that Antetokounmpo is not available in any trade discussions, sources confirm. As Marc Stein reported, the franchise has told other teams, “He’s not available. We don’t want your trade pitches,” despite continued speculation across the league.

Giannis, sidelined with a calf strain expected to keep him out roughly four weeks, leads Milwaukee with 28.9 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 6.1 assists per game. The absence of the two-time MVP has contributed to the Bucks’ struggles, even with Kevin Porter Jr. and Ryan Rollins providing scoring and playmaking support.

While Antetokounmpo publicly acknowledged on Bucks Media Day that the New York Knicks could be a potential summer destination, the Bucks’ management remains firm. Stein emphasized that although teams are preparing for a future trade scenario, Milwaukee continues to reject any offers, creating an unusual dynamic in the league.

Other franchises, such as the Miami Heat, are considered unlikely suitors without major roster changes. Stein noted Miami would need to part with significant assets, including Andrew Wiggins, to compete for Giannis, a move sources say is unrealistic under current circumstances.

Giannis’ player option for the 2027-28 season further strengthens his leverage over potential destinations. Any team attempting to acquire him would need assurances of a re-sign, ensuring both competitive potential and market appeal, league executives say.

Despite the firm stance from Milwaukee, league-wide speculation shows no signs of slowing. Antetokounmpo’s efforts to maintain focus within the locker room highlight his leadership as the Bucks navigate a difficult stretch with their superstar sidelined.

For now, the Bucks’ message is definitive: Giannis Antetokounmpo is off-limits, and the team will continue to prioritize basketball over trade chatter, leaving the league on alert as the season progresses.
