The Los Angeles Lakers host the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday, December 10, at Crypto.com Arena at 10:00 PM ET in an NBA Cup quarterfinal game. Both teams enter with similar records, the Lakers at 17-6 and the Spurs at 16-7, each riding a one-game winning streak.

San Antonio faces a major setback as star Victor Wembanyama (Left Calf Strain) is ruled out, removing the league’s leading rebounder and a primary scoring option. Guard Jordan McLaughlin is listed as questionable with a left hamstring strain, while Harrison Ingram, David Jones Garcia, and Riley Minix remain out as two-way players in the G League.

For Los Angeles, the injury report is lighter, with only Maxi Kleber listed as questionable due to a lumbar muscle strain. The Lakers otherwise have a healthy roster, keeping key contributors like Luka Doncic, Austin Reaves, and LeBron James available.

The Spurs have relied heavily on De’Aaron Fox and Wembanyama this season. Fox is averaging 24.3 points and 6.5 assists per game, while Wembanyama posted 26.2 points, 12.9 rebounds, and 3.6 blocks per game before his injury. Devin Vassell (15.7 PPG) and Stephon Castle (17.4 PPG) will need to step up in their absence.

Los Angeles boasts Doncic, who leads the team with 35.0 points and 9.1 assists per game. Reaves follows with 28.4 points and 6.7 assists per contest. Deandre Ayton is contributing 15.3 points and 8.8 rebounds, providing a significant interior presence to match the Spurs’ frontcourt.

In their only previous meeting this season on November 5, the Lakers narrowly defeated the Spurs 118-116.
