The Milwaukee Bucks announced that Kevin Porter Jr. underwent successful surgery on Monday to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee.

The team confirmed via social media that Porter is expected to be sidelined for approximately four more weeks as he recovers.

The injury occurred last Thursday during an on-court workout, as Porter was ramping up his activity following a left ankle sprain suffered on opening night.

The 25-year-old guard had started that first game for Milwaukee after re-signing with the team on a two-year deal in the offseason but exited after just nine minutes.

Porter, the final first-round pick of the 2019 NBA Draft, has had a tumultuous career marked by both flashes of high-level talent and off-court controversies.

After missing the entire 2023–24 season due to a domestic violence incident that led to an NBA investigation, Porter returned to the league last year.

His play improved significantly following a midseason trade to Milwaukee, where he averaged 11.7 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.7 assists in 19.9 minutes per game while shooting nearly 50% from the field and 41% from three-point range.
