Dallas Mavericks guard D’Angelo Russell is officially engaged to Laura Ivaniukas, the couple confirmed on Instagram Tuesday. Ivaniukas shared a post captioned, “Ms to Mrs.. Loading,” referencing the nickname Russell has used since being drafted by the Lakers in 2015.
The couple already shares two children, daughter Mila Rose and son Riley. Ivaniukas, 26, born in Oakville, Ontario, Canada, is of Lithuanian descent and holds Canadian citizenship.
Russell joined the Mavericks this summer, signing a two-year, $13 million contract on July 6. He brings over a decade of NBA experience, having played for the Lakers, Brooklyn, Golden State, Minnesota, and the Lakers again before his current stint in Dallas.
Over his NBA career, Russell has averaged 17.3 points, 5.7 assists, and 3.4 rebounds per game. He earned an All-Star selection in 2019 and has appeared in 32 playoff games, contributing 14.2 points per contest.
The announcement comes as Russell settles into life in Dallas, balancing his professional responsibilities with family life. Ivaniukas’ Canadian-Lithuanian heritage has previously drawn attention due to speculation about Russell possibly joining Lithuania’s national team, though the Lithuanian Basketball Federation has confirmed no steps were taken for naturalization.
This engagement marks a new chapter for Russell, who has consistently been a prominent figure both on and off the court. Fans and teammates have reacted positively to the announcement, highlighting the couple’s commitment and growing family.
Russell’s professional focus remains with the Mavericks, where he is expected to take on a leadership role in the 2025–26 season with Kyrie Irving sidelined with and ACL injury. His combination of scoring ability, playmaking, and experience provides Dallas with a versatile backcourt presence.
