D’Angelo Russell is continuing his career overseas after agreeing to a contract with the Shanghai Sharks for the upcoming Chinese Basketball Association season.

The move comes after Russell spent last season with the Dallas Mavericks, appearing in 26 games. The 11-year NBA veteran averaged 10.2 points, 2.3 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game during his time with Dallas.

Russell was later traded to the Washington Wizards as part of a midseason deal, but his stay with the organization was brief.

Washington sent Russell to the Memphis Grizzlies during the offseason. Memphis ultimately waived the veteran guard last week despite his $5.9 million salary for the upcoming season.
