D’Angelo Russell has agreed to a two-year contract worth $13 million with the Dallas Mavericks.

After finishing last season with the Brooklyn Nets, following a trade from the Los Angeles Lakers, Russell will now join Dallas using their $5.685 million tax midlevel exception.

The player is expected to provide stability at the point guard position while Kyrie Irving continues his recovery from ACL surgery.

Once Irving returns, Russell may also take on a role playing off the ball in the backcourt.

Last season, the point guard averaged 12.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game.
