The Raptors 905, Toronto’s NBA G League affiliate, are moving the rights to guard Kennedy Chandler to the Delaware Blue Coats, the G League affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers.
In return, the 905 will receive wing Patrick McCaw along with a future first-round draft pick, according to Blake Murphy of Sportsnet.ca.
Murphy notes that McCaw drew interest from several EuroLeague clubs earlier in the offseason, though it remains unclear whether he will continue playing in the G League under the watchful eyes of NBA scouts or pursue a potentially more lucrative opportunity overseas.
McCaw has spent the past four seasons competing in the G League, and his future plans could have a major impact on the Raptors 905 roster moving forward.
The trade gives the 905 a veteran wing in McCaw while providing the Blue Coats with a promising young guard in Chandler, reshaping both teams’ lineups and offering potential benefits for player development and scouting exposure.
