Minnesota Timberwolves center Naz Reid is mourning the loss of his sister, Toraya Reid, who was identified as the victim in a fatal shooting in Jackson Township.

According to a report from Mike Moyer, the 28-year-old was killed during a violent incident at the Paragon Apartments on Friday. Authorities have since confirmed her identity.

Police responded to the scene after receiving emergency calls about gunfire at the apartment complex. Toraya Reid was pronounced dead shortly after officers arrived.

Investigators have not released details on possible suspects or motives connected to the shooting. The case remains under active investigation.

Reid, 26, has emerged as a key contributor for the Timberwolves, finishing as a finalist for the 2024 NBA Sixth Man of the Year award.

The tragic news comes just months after Reid helped Minnesota reach the Western Conference Finals for the second straight time.
