Cam Thomas remains unsigned deep into the NBA offseason, raising questions about his future with the Brooklyn Nets.

The 23-year-old guard recently deleted all Nets-related content from his Instagram, fueling speculation about his stance in contract negotiations.

Thomas is currently a restricted free agent amid stalled talks with Brooklyn’s front office.

According to Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer, the Nets have offered a two-year deal worth about $14 million, including a team option for the second year.

Thomas reportedly seeks a four-year contract near $100 million, aiming for starter-level pay around $25 million per season.

A veteran scout told Fast Break Journal that many teams view Thomas as a “microwave scorer off the bench” rather than a full-fledged star.

“He’s a talented scorer, but he’s kind of stuck in the middle right now,” the scout said.

An Eastern Conference scout explained that at his desired salary, teams expect more than just scoring.

“You’re talking $25–30 million per year — there’s got to be some defensive buy-in, some playmaking, some winning impact,” the scout noted.

That gap between Thomas’ expectations and teams’ demands is reportedly keeping him unsigned.

Despite averaging 22.3 points over 65 games last season, the Nets have not shown a willingness to commit long term.

Fischer pointed out that Thomas seems likely to take the qualifying offer of $4.4 million for the 2025–26 season, before reaching unrestricted free agency next summer.

Brooklyn remains his most probable destination, as interest from other teams appears limited.
