Serbia has officially unveiled its preliminary roster for the upcoming FIBA Basketball World Cup qualifying windows, with Nikola Jokic headlining the squad.
The Denver Nuggets superstar is set to return to the national team for the first time since last summer’s EuroBasket, giving Serbia a major boost ahead of an important stretch of international competition.
The team will be without several key players.
Bogdan Bogdanovic is not available for the upcoming window, while Serbia will also be missing Nikola Milutinov, Marko Guduric, Filip Petrusev, and young guard Nikola Topic.
Preparations for the qualifying campaign will begin on June 22, when players gather for training camp.
Before the official games start, Serbia will face the Czech Republic in a friendly on June 27, providing the coaching staff with an opportunity to evaluate the roster and build chemistry.
Serbia will then open its qualifying schedule with an away game against Switzerland on July 2 before returning to Belgrade to host Bosnia and Herzegovina on July 6.
The preliminary roster features a mix of NBA talent, experienced internationals, and rising prospects, including Nikola Jokic, Vasilije Micic, Aleksa Avramovic, Tristan Vukcevic, Nikola Jovic, Ognjen Dobric, Dejan Davidovac, and several standout players from clubs across Europe.
