The Brooklyn Nets have officially extended a qualifying offer to guard Cam Thomas, according to a report from Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
By issuing the $5.99 million one-year offer, the organization has made Thomas a restricted free agent, giving the franchise the right to match any contract he may receive from another team this offseason.
Thomas, 23, is coming off his best year as a pro, averaging a career-high 24.0 points and 3.8 assists across 25 games during the 2024–25 season.
He started 23 of those contests, maintaining his efficiency with a .438 field goal percentage while attempting over 18 shots per game and connecting on 34.9% from beyond the arc.
After being selected 27th overall in the 2021 NBA Draft, Thomas spent the entirety of his four-year rookie contract with Brooklyn, developing into one of the team’s primary scoring options.
Over 215 career games with the Nets, the former LSU standout has averaged 15.1 points in just over 23 minutes per game.
He has steadily improved each season, culminating in his breakout campaign this past year, despite Brooklyn finishing 12th in the Eastern Conference with a 26–56 record.
In an expanded role, Thomas also posted personal bests in free throw percentage (.881), assists (3.8 per game), and three-pointers made per game (2.7).
Now a restricted free agent, Thomas is expected to draw interest from teams in need of perimeter scoring, especially given his ability to create offense off the dribble and stretch the floor.
