As the San Antonio Spurs prepare for the offseason, several important roster questions are beginning to take shape, including the future contracts of Victor Wembanyama, Julian Champagnie, and Harrison Barnes.

According to reports, San Antonio has interest in bringing Barnes back, though a new agreement could require the veteran forward to accept a significant pay reduction after earning $19 million this past season.

Barnes appears open to remaining with the franchise, recently describing the Spurs as a “first-class organization in every way.”

Wembanyama’s upcoming rookie-scale extension is expected to be one of the organization’s biggest priorities.

One detail league observers will be watching closely is whether the contract includes a player option, which could impact the long-term structure of the deal.

Champagnie’s situation is another notable decision for the front office.

While the Spurs hold a team-friendly $3 million option for the 2026-27 season, there is speculation that the organization could decline that option and instead negotiate a longer-term contract that provides both security for the player and financial flexibility for the team.

According to ESPN’s Bobby Marks, the Spurs are also expected to address roster needs during the summer.

Potential priorities include adding a stretch-four capable of spacing the floor and strengthening the team’s backcourt depth as San Antonio continues building around Wembanyama and its young core.
