Olympiacos, one of the premier basketball clubs in Greece, is actively exploring the international market in search of reinforcements for its frontcourt.

According to a report from Gazzetta.gr (via Sportando), the team has set its sights on former NBA lottery pick Mohamed Bamba as a potential addition.

Bamba, selected sixth overall in the 2018 NBA Draft, began the 2023/24 season with the Los Angeles Clippers but was traded and subsequently waived in early February.

Following a brief stint as a free agent, he later joined the New Orleans Pelicans on a 10-day contract in March.

Though he didn’t secure a long-term NBA deal after that, the 27-year-old center remains a compelling option for overseas clubs due to his length, rim protection, and upside.

Olympiacos, a perennial EuroLeague contender, is looking to bolster its interior depth and sees Bamba as a player who could bring both defensive presence and experience at the highest level of competition.

Bamba has played 7 seasons for 5 teams, including the Magic and Clippers. He has averaged 6.8 points and 5.4 rebounds in 364 regular-season games.
