The Utah Jazz have signed 7-foot center Mo Bamba to a 10-day contract, NBA insider Shams Charania reported on Thursday, February 26.
Bamba, 27, spent time with the Toronto Raptors earlier this season, appearing in two games without scoring and averaging one rebound. He has been dominant with the Jazz’s G League affiliate the Salt Lake City Stars, averaging 17 points, 11.5 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game.
Previously, Bamba signed with Utah on September 25, 2025, but was waived after preseason camp. He joined the Salt Lake City Stars on October 27 before signing with Toronto on December 29. He was waived by the Raptors on January 6, 2026.
The Jazz are 18-40 this season, sitting 13th in the Western Conference, with injuries depleting their frontcourt. Jusuf Nurkic, Walker Kessler, and Vince Williams Jr. are all sidelined for the remainder of the year, while Lauri Markkanen is day-to-day with an ankle and hip injury.
Bamba’s arrival provides depth at the center position behind Markkanen, Kessler (injured), and Jaren Jackson Jr., who is also out for the season.
Utah’s offense has leaned on Markkanen and Keyonte George, averaging 26.7 and 23.8 points per game respectively. Bamba’s size and shot-blocking ability could allow more freedom for perimeter players and support the team’s rebuild approach.
This short-term contract gives the Jazz flexibility to evaluate Bamba’s fit while navigating a roster affected by injuries.
