Fresh off signing a non-guaranteed deal, Mo Bamba had a quiet debut with the Raptors on Monday. In limited action, he recorded one block, picked up two fouls, and the team was outscored by nine points during his four minutes on the floor.

While the impact was minimal, the circumstances suggest he may get additional chances to prove himself, especially with Jakob Poeltl sidelined due to a back issue.

With the Raptors thin at center, Bamba is expected to receive more opportunities in the coming games as the team evaluates whether he can earn a longer stay.

According to Josh Lewenberg of TSN.ca, the coaching staff plans to give him a fair look as they assess his fit and effectiveness.

Head coach Darko Rajakovic expressed optimism about what lies ahead for Bamba, saying, “I think this is a good opportunity for him to prove to everybody that he belongs in this league.

“We’re going to have a very clear plan for him. We’re going to give him an opportunity to show what he can do and hopefully it works for both sides.”
