During Game 3 of the first-round playoff matchup between the Memphis Grizzlies and the Oklahoma City Thunder, Ja Morant was forced to leave the game early after sustaining a hip injury.
The incident occurred in the second quarter, when Morant took a hard fall following contact from Oklahoma City’s Lu Dort.
Despite the severity of the fall, game officials determined that Dort’s foul did not warrant a flagrant designation.
At the time of the incident, the Grizzlies were in control of the game, holding a commanding 29-point lead.
Morant had been putting up a strong performance before the injury, tallying 15 points and five assists.
Ultimately, the Grizzlies were unable to maintain their lead and fell to the Thunder by a final score of 114-108.
