The Sacramento Kings are bringing back a familiar face, signing center Skal Labissiere to a 10-day contract. NBA insider Shams Charania confirmed the deal.

This marks Labissiere’s third stint with Sacramento, the team that drafted him in the first round of the 2016 NBA Draft. The 28-year-old big man has played 148 career NBA games, averaging 7.2 points and 4.5 rebounds in 17.5 minutes per contest.

Labissiere rejoined the Kings last September but was waived before the regular season. He then signed with Sacramento’s G League affiliate, the Stockton Kings, where he has been a standout performer. In 21 games this season, he has averaged 15.8 points and 7.5 rebounds.

Sacramento is currently ninth in the Western Conference with a 31-28 record and is looking to bolster its depth in the frontcourt. With the Kings fighting for playoff positioning, Labissiere could provide a temporary boost off the bench.

The 6-foot-10 center offers size and offensive versatility, with a solid mid-range game and the ability to stretch the floor. His familiarity with Sacramento’s system could help him integrate quickly into the rotation.

The Kings will have 10 days to evaluate Labissiere’s fit before deciding whether to extend his contract. If he performs well, he could earn a longer stay as the team pushes for a postseason berth.
