Several star veterans will be eligible for contract extensions in the 2025 NBA offseason, with recent CBA changes making extensions more lucrative before free agency.

Notable eligible players include:

Luka Doncic, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Trae Young, Nikola Jokic, De’Aaron Fox, Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Karl-Anthony Towns, Ja Morant, Darius Garland, Tyler Herro, Kristaps Porzingis, and Jaren Jackson Jr.

Jokic, Booker, and Towns, who signed supermax deals in 2022, can decline their $62.8M player options for 2027-28 to sign a three-year, $212M extension.

Gilgeous-Alexander is eligible for a four-year, $293M supermax, while Fox can sign a four-year, $229M deal with the Spurs starting August 3rd.

Doncic, ineligible for a supermax after being traded to the Lakers, can sign a five-year, $229M extension or a three-year, $165M deal with a player option for 2028-29, aligning with his 10-year service max.

He becomes extension-eligible on August 2nd.
