In a postgame interview, Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves shared his frustration that fans didn’t get to see more playing time from Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic during the All-Star event (Twitter video link).
Both Team World stars, who have recently dealt with injuries, exited the opening game after just over five minutes and did not return to the court.
Edwards emphasized that he had hoped to see more involvement from two of the league’s biggest names.
“No shade towards Luka and Jokic, but they’re two of the best players in the league,” the player said. “They’re not trying to play in the All-Star game.”
Meanwhile, during Saturday’s media availability, Celtics star Jaylen Brown discussed potential plans for life after basketball, revealing an interest in combat sports, according to Johnny Askounis of Eurohoops.
Brown said he has seriously considered pursuing either mixed martial arts or boxing once his NBA career concludes and has already spoken with UFC president Dana White about the possibility.
“To be honest, I’ve toyed with this, and I’ve talked to some people,” he said.
“Maybe in the post-career part of my life, I would love to partake in something like the UFC or even boxing. I’ve talked to (UFC president) Dana White about some stuff. We’ll see how things go.”
