
The Orlando Magic have officially signed free-agent guard Ethan Thompson to a two-way contract.
Thompson has had an impressive stint in the NBA G League, starting in all 14 regular-season games with the Osceola Magic.
He posted averages of 17.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.07 steals per game while playing 34.1 minutes per contest.
During the NBA G League Tip-off Tournament, he appeared in 16 games, starting 15, and maintained strong numbers with 16.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.44 steals in 32.1 minutes per game.
Although undrafted by an NBA team, Thompson has built a solid G League career across 110 regular-season appearances, starting in 101 games for Windy City, Mexico City, and Osceola.
He has averaged 17.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.25 steals per game, shooting an impressive 85% from the free-throw line (300-353).
In the 2023-24 season, Thompson showcased his talent with Mexico City, earning a spot on the All-NBA G League Third Team after averaging 22.8 points, 5.1 assists, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.45 steals per game in 33 starts, playing 37.2 minutes per game.
