The Indiana Pacers have signed guard Ethan Thompson to a two-year, two-way contract, according to Tony East. Thompson, 26, will split time between the Pacers and their G League affiliate, the Noblesville Boom.

Thompson brings a versatile scoring touch, averaging 26.9 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 6.5 assists over eight games with the Sioux Falls Skyforce this season. His 45% field-goal and 36.8% three-point shooting highlight his efficiency as a primary ball-handler.

A former undrafted player in 2021, Thompson began his professional career with the Windy City Bulls and later played for the Mexico City Capitanes, Osos de Manatí, and Osceola Magic. His international and G League experience has strengthened his all-around game and playmaking ability.

During the 2024–25 season with Osceola, he averaged 16.8 points and 4.3 rebounds in 16 games while shooting 44.2% from the field and 40.8% from beyond the arc. Thompson also briefly signed a two-way contract with the Orlando Magic but did not appear in NBA games before being waived.

Thompson’s addition provides the Pacers (4–16) with a dynamic backcourt option as they navigate a challenging start to the 2025–26 season.

Indiana’s current roster features Pascal Siakam (23.9 points, 7.2 rebounds, 4.4 assists), Bennedict Mathurin (22.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists), and Andrew Nembhard (17.2 points, 1.8 rebounds, 6.2 assists), and Thompson could serve as a scoring spark off the bench.
