Just a week after appearing in his first NBA game, Pacers two-way guard Ethan Thompson found himself in the starting lineup on Monday, stepping into the wing spot that has recently rotated among Ben Sheppard, Jarace Walker, and Garrison Mathews.

Thompson’s stat line was modest – six points and five rebounds – but he added a pair of steals and avoided turnovers while logging 28 steady minutes, showing reliability in a role built on consistency rather than flash.

Following the victory, head coach Rick Carlisle highlighted the poise and dependability Thompson brought to the floor.

“He plays a very solid, very even keeled game and he’s helping us,” Carlisle said, emphasizing that Thompson’s calm approach and defensive activity were meaningful contributions for the team.
