Devin Carter’s NBA debut was an unforgettable moment, not only because of his performance on the court but also due to the emotional significance of having his father, former NBA player Anthony Carter, present on the coaching staff.

As reported by Jason Anderson of The Sacramento Bee, it was a special occasion for Devin, who had always dreamed of this day.

Before the game, Carter reflected on the rare opportunity to share such a milestone with his father, acknowledging how meaningful the experience was for both of them.

“It’s just a blessing, especially to play my first NBA game in front of him,” the Kings rookie shared with reporters. “It’s something you dream of as a kid, and the moment is here, so I’m not going to shy away from the moment.”

Devin Carter had a standout NCAA career, first at the University of South Carolina and then at Providence College.

In his sophomore season at Providence during 2023-24, he posted impressive stats, averaging 19.7 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game.

His field goal percentage was 47.3%, and he shot 37.7% from beyond the arc and 84.0% from the free-throw line.
