Devin Carter joins Celtics

Devin Carter will get an opportunity to compete for a place on the Boston Celtics’ roster after reaching an agreement with the team.

The deal brings Carter into training camp, where he will attempt to earn either a standard NBA roster spot or one of Boston’s Two-Way contracts.

Carter became available following a series of offseason moves.

The Sacramento Kings traded him to the Atlanta Hawks as part of their effort to move below the second apron, and Atlanta later waived the young guard.

The 24-year-old appeared in 38 games for Sacramento last season, producing 8.9 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists while averaging 18.4 minutes per game.
