Confirming earlier reports, Michael Scotto reveals that the Boston Celtics actively explored the trade market for Jaden Springer and his $4 million expiring contract during the fall.

According to Scotto, while several teams showed interest in acquiring Springer, their willingness to take on his contract was contingent on receiving draft compensation from the Celtics in return. However, at that time, Boston wasn’t willing to part with any draft assets to move off of the guard’s deal.

This situation could evolve as the trade deadline approaches, and it will be interesting to see if the Celtics’ stance changes, especially if they determine that moving Springer would benefit their roster construction or financial flexibility.
