The New Orleans Pelicans have waived guard Jaden Springer, NBA insider Michael Scotto confirmed on Thursday. Springer had joined the team less than three months ago, signing on July 31 to add depth to the Pelicans’ backcourt.
Springer, 23, has appeared in 110 career NBA games with the 76ers, Celtics, and Jazz over four seasons. Across his career, he has averaged 2.9 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 0.8 assists in 8.8 minutes per game.
During the 2025 preseason, Springer saw limited action in New Orleans’ Melbourne and Orlando games, recording five points, four rebounds, and two assists over two contests.
Springer’s career began with the Philadelphia 76ers, followed by stints in Boston and Utah. However, he has yet to establish a steady role in the league.
Springer will now enter free agency, giving other NBA teams the opportunity to add a young, versatile guard with experience in multiple systems.
