Golden State Warriors’ guard De’Anthony Melton has been sidelined due to a sprained left ACL, the team confirmed. The injury, reported by NBA insider Shams Charania, comes as the Warriors sit in second place in the Western Conference with a strong 9-2 record.
Melton, who joined the Warriors in the offseason, has contributed 10.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in 20.2 minutes per game over the first six contests.
His all-around play has been a solid addition to the Warriors’ rotation, helping to balance the team’s offense and defense. The 26-year-old guard’s injury could have implications for Golden State’s backcourt depth.
Although the sprained ACL is a significant blow, the Warriors’ depth and strong team performance so far should allow them to manage without Melton for the time being
The team has been thriving with key contributions from stars like Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, alongside solid bench play. However, Melton’s absence will likely push other players to take on a more prominent role.
