The Detroit Pistons have signed Javante McCoy to an Exhibit 10 deal, according to NBA insider Michael Scotto. The move comes as the Pistons also waived Sam Peek and Devon Higgs.
McCoy, who went undrafted in the 2022 NBA Draft, initially joined the Los Angeles Lakers for the 2022 NBA Summer League. He signed with the Lakers on July 24, 2022, but was waived on October 8.
Following his release from the Lakers, McCoy was briefly with the South Bay Lakers starting October 22, 2022. He then signed with the San Antonio Spurs on September 18, 2023, but was waived just two days later.
After his brief stint with the Spurs, McCoy joined the Austin Spurs on October 31, 2023. Last season with Austin, he played 27 games and averaged 28.1 points, 3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in 17.1 minutes per game.
