Former Sacramento Kings guard Mike Bibby recently shared his thoughts on the current state of the team.

He acknowledged the improvements made by the Kings but pointed out that they still need a few more pieces to truly contend.

The addition of DeMar DeRozan via free agency was a key move for Sacramento this offseason.

Prior to signing DeRozan, the Kings were in discussions with the Washington Wizards about a potential trade involving Kyle Kuzma.

Bibby shared his opinion on the trade scenario, stating that Kuzma may not have been the right fit for Sacramento.

“I don’t know if that’s the right look for him,” Bibby said in an interview with Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson on Scoop B Radio.

He also praised the Kings’ current roster, specifically highlighting the team’s core players, Domantas Sabonis and De’Aaron Fox.

Bibby expressed confidence in their progress but emphasized that they need additional talent to reach the next level.

“I think they’re missing a few pieces,” Bibby said. “They’re doing great with Sabonis and Fox. I love that they signed Malik back.”

The Kings re-signed Malik Monk this offseason, which Bibby believes was a crucial move in maintaining the team’s chemistry.

However, despite these positive changes, Bibby thinks Sacramento still has work to do.

“I think they’re just missing one piece, but I think they’re right there,” Bibby concluded.

Their core of Sabonis, Fox, and Monk has been pivotal in Kings resurgence, but Bibby’s comments suggest they need a final addition to solidify their contender status.

With DeRozan now part of the mix, Sacramento has bolstered its offense, but it remains to be seen if that’s enough for a deep playoff run.
