Former NBA player Junior Bridgeman is reportedly acquiring a 10% stake in the Milwaukee Bucks, marking a significant investment in the franchise.

Bridgeman, a former Bucks star, is set to receive a 15% discount as a “preferred limited partner” in the deal, which pegs the overall value of the Bucks at an impressive $4 billion, even after factoring in his discounted buy-in.

Bridgeman has a deep history with the Bucks, having played for Milwaukee during the first nine seasons of his professional basketball career, from 1975 to 1984.

He briefly joined the LA Clippers for two seasons before returning to Milwaukee for one final year. Bridgeman officially retired from the NBA in 1987 after an impressive 12-year career.

Since he retired from basketball, Bridgeman has become highly successful in the business world, amassing a reported net worth of over $600 million.

His portfolio includes ownership of the iconic African American magazines Ebony and Jet, in addition to diverse business ventures such as fast food franchises, soft drink bottling companies, and aluminum production enterprises.

Bridgeman’s success in business has made him one of the wealthiest former athletes, showcasing his acumen beyond the court.
