Anthony Edwards, star of the Minnesota Timberwolves, opened up about his debut with Team USA ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics, revealing nerves despite his experience in international play.
Last year, Edwards played a pivotal role as Team USA finished fourth at the 2023 FIBA World Cup, setting the stage for his continued involvement on the national stage.
Teaming up with basketball legends like LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and Joel Embiid, Edwards forms part of a star-studded American lineup poised for Olympic glory.
In his first exhibition game against Team Canada in Las Vegas, Edwards contributed 13 points in just 19 minutes off the bench, helping secure an 86-72 victory for Team USA.
Reflecting on his nerves before the game, Edwards candidly admitted, “I was nervous for real, I ain’t gonna lie. My first time playing in the Olympics. I definitely was nervous,” as reported by Chris Hine.
