Anthony Edwards revealed that Team USA’s gold-medal celebration at the 2024 Paris Olympics was interrupted by a drug test.
In an appearance with Kevin Durant at Fanatics Fest, Edwards shared that he, Durant, and Stephen Curry were required to undergo testing after their victory over France.
“We couldn’t even really celebrate for real because me, him, and Steph had to take like a drug test or something,” Edwards said, as quoted by Doric Sam of Bleacher Report.
The unexpected testing disrupted the post-game festivities, preventing the trio from fully enjoying their gold-medal win.
Despite the interruption, Team USA’s achievement in Paris remains a significant highlight for the players and their fans.
The drug tests, a standard procedure in Olympic competitions, ensured fair play and adherence to anti-doping regulations.
