Team USA faced their toughest test yet in the FIBA World Cup, battling it out against Montenegro in a hard-fought second-round game that ended 85-73 in favor of the Americans.
While the entire team played a vital role in the win, it was Anthony Edwards who emerged as a standout performer, despite a slow start.
In the first half, the 22-year-old shooting guard faced a scoring drought, going 0-for-5 from the field without a single point to his name.
However, in the second half, he flipped the script, scoring 17 crucial points on 7-of-11 shooting, helping Team USA maintain their undefeated streak in the tournament.
Reflecting on his turnaround, Edwards admitted, “I felt like I let my team down in the first half. I wasn’t being aggressive and stopped shooting after I went 0-for-5, which isn’t my usual approach.
