Kevin Durant will not play in Team USA’s opening game against Serbia at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

NBA insider Brian Windhorst reported that Durant will miss the Group C matchup due to a strained calf.

Durant has not participated in any of Team USA’s five friendly games leading up to the Olympics.

Windhorst stated, “I think [Team USA] gonna be playing Serbia without Kevin Durant… Steve Kerr met with him today and they decided he needs more time with that strained calf… They could fly in a replacement [for KD], that’s not gonna happen.”

Despite discussions about possible replacements, Team USA has opted not to bring in a substitute for Durant.

The American team will face Serbia on Sunday, July 28, without their star forward.

Durant, who is 35, averaged 27.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 5 assists per game last season.
