During the open media practice before the Finals against Real Madrid, Mathias Lessort from Panathinaikos was the last player who left the court.

While his teammates were talking to reporters or already left to the locker rooms, Mathias Lessort was working with two assistant coaches till the very end of their practice.

“I can’t say I am always the one who is leaving the court last, sometimes is my teammate, sometimes it is me. everybody has their own routine. Also me, I have my routine, I have to practice and to work on my stuff during or little bit after the practice. I don’t want to say that I’m always the one who leaves the last, when I want to leave when my teammates are staying and practicing more. A lot f them stay after the practice, they work out as well. And today I don’t know what happened. Maybe some of them wanted to leave, maybe some of them went to get treatment. It just happened for me to be the last one, it is not always like this. I set my mindset to work and to do my stuff, to prepare and I am just doing my every-day routine”.

Even though he was one of the notable players in the competition, this weekend is Lessort’s first time at the Final Four of the EuroLeague, and as well first time reaching the Finals.

“Yes, this is my first Finals, hopefully not the last. I would like it ends the right way, but in general, I am very happy to be here. I can’t say I am not happy to be a participant, but we won’t just satisfied for only being here”, said Lessort who doesn’t need any additional motivation then fight for the trophy.

“Tomorrow we are playing for the EuroLeague’s title, I don’t think I will need any additional motivation. I don’t think that happen to me last year should motivate me, I am sure we have enough motivation for tomorrow’s game. No need for any extra motivation or any other feelings against Real Madrid. Tomorrow is a new basketball game an we are playing for the European title“, Lessort finished his statement.
