NBA insider Shams Charania reported that the Cleveland Cavaliers have parted ways with head coach JB Bickerstaff.

According to sources, Warriors assistant Kenny Atkinson and Pelicans associate James Borrego are expected to be among candidates for the job.

Both Atkinson and Borrego have also been linked to the vacant Los Angeles Lakers head coach position.

The Cleveland Cavaliers’ decision to part ways with Bickerstaff comes after the team’s elimination in the second round of the playoffs by the Boston Celtics.

Atkinson, known for his tenure with the Brooklyn Nets, brings a wealth of coaching experience to the table. As a former head coach, Atkinson played a key role in the development of young talent and implementing a competitive playing style.

Borrego, currently serving as an associate head coach with the New Orleans Pelicans, is also a strong contender for the Cavaliers’ coaching position.
