Amidst the Los Angeles Lakers’ ongoing search for a new head coach, JJ Redick’s involvement in podcasts with LeBron James has caught the attention of NBA insider Brian Windhorst.

Windhorst suggests that Redick’s discussions on the “Mind the Game” podcast essentially serve as job interviews for the Lakers coaching role.

“Frankly, his interviews have been in those podcasts with LeBron James,” Windhorst remarked, highlighting Redick’s insights into the Lakers’ offensive strategies and basketball acumen.

“They’ve extensively broken down the Lakers’ offense, extensively broken down what they do,” Windhorst added.

The Lakers, revisiting their coaching options after Dan Hurley’s decline, are expected to resume discussions with Redick, who was previously a frontrunner for the position.

Redick is slated to meet with the Lakers over the coming weekend to further explore the vacant head coaching position.

Redick, alongside New Orleans associate head coach James Borrego, remains among the primary candidates in consideration for the Lakers job.
