NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski revealed that Denver Nuggets assistant coach David Adelman is being considered for both the Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers coaching positions.

Adelman’s coaching journey began in 2011 when he joined the Minnesota Timberwolves as a player development coach under his father, Rick Adelman.

Following Rick’s retirement in 2014, Adelman continued with the Timberwolves, assuming the role of head coach for the NBA Summer League under coaches Flip Saunders and Sam Mitchell.

In 2016, he transitioned to the Orlando Magic as an assistant coach under Frank Vogel before joining the Denver Nuggets in 2017 as the lead assistant coach under Michael Malone.

During his tenure with the Nuggets, Adelman played a pivotal role in the team’s success, culminating in an NBA championship victory over the Miami Heat in the 2023 NBA Finals.

While Adelman’s future with the Lakers and Cavaliers remains uncertain, reports suggest that former player JJ Redick is a frontrunner for the Lakers coaching job.

Additionally, assistant coaches James Borrego and Kenny Atkinson are among the top candidates for the Cavaliers position, adding to the competitive landscape of coaching decisions in the NBA.
