Amid preparations for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, Team USA has unveiled its preliminary squad, with eleven players securing their spots and one roster position remaining open.

According to a report from Shams Charania and Joe Vardon on The Athletic, Kawhi Leonard stands as the leading candidate for the coveted vacancy, with seasoned contenders like Paul George, Paolo Banchero, Mikal Bridges, and Jalen Brunson also in the mix.

This season 32-year-old Leonard is averaging 23.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 3.6 assists in 34.3 minutes per game. If selected, it would be his first time playing for Team USA.

The anticipated roster features a constellation of superstars, including Steph Curry, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Joel Embiid, alongside stars such as Devin Booker, Anthony Davis, and Bam Adebayo.
