Jalen Green dropped a season-high 37 points to lead the Houston Rockets (31-35) to a commanding 135-119 victory over the struggling Washington Wizards (11-55) on Thursday night.

Fred VanVleet contributed 27 points for the Rockets, extending their winning streak to four straight games, demonstrating their resilience despite missing Alperen Sengun due to injury.

Rookie Amen Thompson scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds, Jabari Smith Jr. added 16, and Dillon Brooks contributed 13.

Despite the absence of Sengun, all of Houston’s starters delivered strong performances, with balanced scoring and dominant rebounding that overwhelmed the Wizards throughout the game.

Washington, led by Jordan Poole’s 25 points off the bench and strong contributions from Deni Avdija (24 points, 9 rebounds) and Kyle Kuzma (23 points), attempted a late comeback but couldn’t overcome Houston’s commanding lead.

A brief surge by the Wizards early in the fourth quarter was swiftly quelled by the Rockets, as Green ignited their offense with timely 3-pointers, extending their lead and securing the victory.
