Houston Rockets’ rising star, Alperen Sengun, faces a significant setback as the severity of his recent ankle injury comes to light.

NBA insider Shams Charania disclosed that Sengun has sustained a Grade 3 right ankle sprain, likely sidelining him for several weeks and potentially ending his regular season prematurely.

The Turkish center’s injury occurred during the Rockets’ recent victory over the Sacramento Kings, casting a shadow over his promising season.

Sengun’s absence will undoubtedly be felt by the Rockets, as the young center has been a key contributor to the team’s performance this season.

In his third year in the NBA, Sengun has been averaging 21.1 points, 9.3 rebounds, and 5 assists in 32.5 minutes per game.

Houston is currently fighting for a play-in spot, sitting in in 11th place in the Western Conference 4.5 games back behind the 10-seed Golden State Warriors.
