Boston Celtics center Kristaps Porzingis has reached the threshold of being ineligible for NBA awards this season after sitting out his 18th game for the team against the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday night.

This ineligibility is based on the new collective bargaining agreement, which dictates that players can miss no more than 17 games (with some exceptions) to retain eligibility for awards such as MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, Most Improved Player, and selections to the All-NBA or All-Defensive teams.

High-profile players like Joel Embiid are also ineligible, and the list is expanding. Notable players, including Jimmy Butler, Kyrie Irving, Julius Randle, and Bradley Beal, have also crossed the threshold.
