Despite not immediately turning the San Antonio Spurs into instant contenders, Victor Wembanyama expresses contentment with his placement in the team, as reported by Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express-News.
Wembanyama conveyed his excitement when the Spurs secured the draft lottery last May, emphasizing his affection for the organization during his first appearance at All-Star Weekend on Saturday.
“This is really the best place for me,” he told reporters. “I said that over and over. I couldn’t dream of being in a better place.
“Being a Spur, you have to have standards. The main thing is the Spurs get good players. But what matters most is to be a good person. This is why (former players) are still around the team, helping the team. These are values I like.”
