In a stellar performance, Joel Embiid led the Philadelphia 76ers (13-7) to a thrilling 131-126 victory over the Washington Wizards (3-17) on Wednesday night, showcasing his dominance with a season-high 50 points and 13 rebounds.

Embiid, a six-time 50-point scorer in his career, demonstrated his scoring prowess by shooting 19 of 24 from the field, including a successful 3-pointer on two attempts, and converting 11 of 13 free throws. Returning from a two-game absence due to illness, the reigning NBA MVP also contributed seven assists and played just over 38 minutes.

Teammate Tyrese Maxey played a pivotal role, adding 26 points along with seven assists, complementing Embiid’s outstanding performance.

Despite a spirited effort from Jordan Poole, who led the Wizards with 23 points, Washington couldn’t overcome the Sixers’ offensive firepower.
