The upcoming 2023-24 NBA season will kick off with the reigning champions, the Denver Nuggets, facing off against the Los Angeles Lakers, the same team they managed to sweep 4-0 in the Western Conference Finals last season.

Despite the significance of the ring night celebration, Nuggets’ star Jamal Murray has already shifted his focus to the challenges of the new season.

“It’s over for me,” Murray stated, per Harrison Wind of DNVR, emphasizing his determination to move past the celebratory event and concentrate on the task at hand.

“It’s a new year. We’ve got to do it again. That year was great. It was a great summer, but ring night is Game 1, so we have to move on. Game 1 is Tuesday. Ring night is great. Banner night, it’s amazing. But we’ve got to win a game at the end of the day.”

Unfazed by the significance of the match against the Lakers on opening night, Murray maintained a focused and composed stance.

When asked whether he cared about the matchup, he responded, “No. That’s all for you guys. I just go play basketball and have fun.”
