The Celtics have undergone a significant transformation this offseason with the acquisition of Kristaps Porzingis, and former NBA player Drew Gooden believes this move will elevate the team’s competitiveness in the Eastern Conference.

Gooden expressed his approval of the Celtics’ decision to bring in the Latvian forward, highlighting that the team didn’t have to sacrifice too many valuable pieces in the process.

While acknowledging the emotional impact of trading Marcus Smart, Gooden emphasized the potential synergy between Porzingis, Jaylen Brown, and Jayson Tatum.

“Porzingis can play alongside Jaylen [Brown], and you already know who else is over there in [Jayson] Tatum. This is going to be a tough team to beat in the East,” Gooden told Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson on Scoop B Selects.
